Resume writing tips
During the interview, honesty is obviously a very important
rule. Some, however, confuse honesty with
common sense. To present effectively, know the difference.
"Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success."
-Stephen Brennan
Most applicants are eliminated after the interview process when they confuse being honest with having common sense.

Interview tip:During the interview, honesty is obviously a very important
rule. Some, however, confuse honesty with
common sense.
For instance, if one does not like her
ex-boss, she may talk about her experience during
the interview. The choice to do so does not illustrate
her honesty, but lack of common sense.
Effective presenters recognize this difference. During their run for the presidency, Senator Obama lacked experience when compared to Senator Mc- Cain, yet argued having better judgment. Although it was true that Obama lacked the depth and breadth of McCain's experience, common sense moved him to avoid discussing experience and instead to focus on speaking about "having better judgment."
Today, because of improved employer accessibility
to talent, employers have far greater choices when
looking for a candidate, which means the manner in
which you design your answer is far more important
than ever before. Therefore, your ability to handle
commonly asked questions during the interview is
the key to your success during the interview. Below
are sample responses to two commonly asked questions.

"Your company goals are to connect with vendors in China and create a 25% market share in the US. You are also looking to improve relations with your domestic customers to improve your catalog sales."
Research prior to an interview is a necessity today. Why does this company want to fill its position? What objectives are they looking to accomplish? Starting the conversation with this topic is the single most important step when interviewing today.
After demonstrating your knowledge of the company's goals and objectives, continue with,
"My core strengths are in negotiations and relationship building. After researching your company, I am convinced that my skills are directly aligned with the requirements outlined in your job description. My track record shows that I have the experience and applied knowledge to achieve the goals you have currently outlined. In five years, I see myself as a major contributor in establishing the relationships you seek in China, exceeding the 25% benchmark, and improving relations with your domestic customers in a meaningful way."
